Spring comes with Vaasa Energy Week

Spring comes with Vaasa Energy Week

The project E12 Atlantica Transport, funded by Interreg/Botnia-Atlantica, participated in Vaasa EnergyWeek in March 2017, sharing a stand with Kvarken Ports and NLC Vaasa in both Vaasa Wind Exchange & Solar and Vaasa Gas Exchange (VGE).

Vaasa Wind Exchange & Solar is an international event for wind & solar power and renewable energy solutions. It combines an exhibition, briefings and an expert seminar. The event was arranged now for the seventh time.
Vaasa Gas Exchange (VGE), on the other hand, was arranged for the second time and it gathers experts within gas and biogas energy. There are a number of interesting gas projects in the Vaasa region, e.g. Vaasa University’s VEBIC energy laboratory and gas fuelling stations. Both experts and students join hands in the various projects.

The joint stand at Vaasa City Hall was visited by Joakim Strand, Finnish MP and Chairman of the Board of Kvarken Council, the very first day and he seemed happy with what he saw:

– It is a pleasure to visit Vaasa EnergyWeek in a region with one of Europe’s most innovative and expanding business sectors with added value. We create the potential for developing tomorrow’s unique solutions, through networking and contacts, and not only for Vaasa and Kvarken regions but also globally.

Pekka Mäkinen, Vasek’s logistics expert and the Finnish project leader for E12 Atlantica Transport, agrees.
– The event covers a wide field. We have here both experts and students, and the fair offers an interesting platform for both the public and the private sectors. The E12 project presented itself together with important actors along the route, i.e. Kvarken Ports, an important player in the route, and NLC Vaasa, which is one of the terminals we work with in the partnership. – This is a good opportunity to present our infrastructure project and highlight its issues. Logistics and infrastructure must keep up with development and, consequently, an ongoing dialogue with industry is vital.

EnergyWeek gets more and more substantial for each year. Its program was the most extensive ever, and the amount of visitors was XXX. Further information at http://energyweek.fi
