    The Kvarken Council EGTC is Making Progress

    On 21 May, 2018, the Kvarken Council’s AGM took the historical decision to transform the Council from being a registered association into an EGTC, European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation. The Kvarken Council’s Board serves as the working committee for the EGTC process and the Council’s office has, as commissioned by the Board, started work to transform the legal form of the Council from a registered association into an EGTC. Here is a brief overview of the process.

    Kvarken Link AB is exploring the conditions fora new ferry for the Kvarken traffic between Vaasa and Umeå. After a comprehensive analysis ofthe received reports Kvarken Link AB has invited four shipyards to the final round to hand in their binding offers for a new ferry. Three of the shipyards are from Europe and one is from Asia.

    Bryt ad hoc -beteendet i fråga om gränsregionala infrastrukturprojekt

    Dagens planeringssystem för infrastruktur brister när det gäller ett gränsöverskridande perspektiv, vilket riskerar hämma utvecklingen av öst-västliga transporter i Norden. Projektet E12 Atlantica Transport har därför sammanställt problembilden och utarbetat förslag till åtgärder. Projektet har bl.a. samlat trafikmyndigheterna från Sverige, Norge och Finland till ett unikt möte.
