    Olav Jern has a long experience of Nordic co-operation and of work with Kvarken issues. In the autumn, he has together with the Kvarken Council’s personnel draft a new three-year strategy for the Kvarken Council. In his welcoming address, Mr Olav Jern touched upon some central guidelines in the strategy plan.

    The three-year project NSB CoRe, North Sea Baltic Connector of Regions, has been operating since the spring 2016, with the aim of improving traffic and land use within the North Sea Baltic corridor, included in the transeuropean TEN-T transport network, in a way which will bring forth the best possible benefits in traffic investments. The ambition is to transform the chain of individual cities along the transport corridor into one functional entity. Kvarken Council is one of the project partners.

    The final conference of E12 Atlantica Transport project, held in Vaasa, Finland on 14th–15th March, 2018, started with the overall presentation of the project findings and of the border barriers detected. The presentation was given by Mr Jerker Sjögren from Jesjo Konsult and Mr Lars Westin, professor at CERUM at the University of Umeå in Sweden
