Read postJeppe Klockareson from Fair Travel and Anu Nylund from Mood of Finland has been chosen as the two consultants to identify the Bothnian Coastal Route sustainability working method. It was decided that out of different programs and methods, the BCR team want to find a method that is suitable for the BCR area and can be implemented with the BCR area companies. Now the first meetings have been held, and the work has started. The team, along with local project managers, will be trained in March, and the work with the Bothnian Coastal Route companies will start after the training.

In March 2023 the project team arranged a startup meeting in Haparanda with destination marketing organisations from all around the project area. The aim was to gather the whole project area, to define the content of the project all together, to create a sense of togetherness, establish networks and a common strategy for the working process forward.

At the end of 2021, Umeå Wrestling Club, called Umeå Brottning, was granted support for training and competition opportunities together with Finnish wrestlers and clubs. The collaborative project included activities on both sides of the Kvarken, ending in Umeå and the international tournament Umeå Wrestling Battle. The tournament took place on the 14th–16th of October 2022.

The two Steering Committees, for sub-area Sápmi and sub-area Aurora have met on 22nd–23rd of November in Luleå to decide on new cross-border cooperation projects in the northernmost part of Europe and Sápmi. The Steering Committees approved 27 projects in the first call, more than 21 million euro was allocated.
