    The cross-border MABA II project (Midway Alignment Botnia Atlantica II) has reached its goal; project results are now being compiled ahead of the final report and project activities are almost completed. MABA II has had a decisive role in the procurement of the new Kvarken ferry, although project expectations were surpassed already earlier when the new, custom-made ferry was ordered well before project closure.

Med anledning av det kommer projektet att hinna genomföra tre event för resultatspridning varav denna konferens/workshop är den ena, en workshop med trafikverken från Finland, Sverige och Norge är den andra och slutligen slutkonferensen som kommer att äga rum den 18-19 september.

    On 21 May, 2018, the Kvarken Council’s AGM took the historical decision to transform the Council from being a registered association into an EGTC, European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation. The Kvarken Council’s Board serves as the working committee for the EGTC process and the Council’s office has, as commissioned by the Board, started work to transform the legal form of the Council from a registered association into an EGTC.
