Electric propulsion systems – Shaping the future of the aviation industry and changing how the world views transportation

The FAIR webinar welcomed Mr. Roei Ganzarski, CEO magniX on the theme of electric propulsion systems, shaping the future of the aviation industry and changing how the world views transportation.

The third FAIR competence network webinar

The goal of the FAIR project is to create synergy, increase knowledge of the potentials of electric-powered flights and accelerate the implementation of regional electric flights especially in the Kvarken region. The project consists of three work packages (WP 1-3) of which RISE is responsible for WP 3 focusing on the Cross-border innovation process and the project´s competence network.

The purpose of the competence network is to gather and engage actors for the active exchange of expertise and knowledge. The goal is to contribute to and further develop a Nordic competence network within electric aviation.

The FAIR webinar welcomed Mr. Roei Ganzarski, CEO magniX on the theme of electric propulsion systems, shaping the future of the aviation industry and changing how the world views transportation.

Mr. Roei Ganzarski touched upon topics from the technical development of propulsion systems to the status of the aviation industry and future scenarios connected to shifts and trends in culture. Mr Ganzarski also connected the idea of on-demand, point to point travel and related business models to a structural governance perspective with the possibilities of policy-based incentives to create more efficient and cleaner flights. Challenges mentioned were development of energy storage and a mature certification framework.

The webinar dialogue continued around the regulatory agencies role and policy making, regional effects, the future electric designed aviation, and drivers to open up the interest for electric flights. All within the scope of identifying opportunities to positively disturb the existing Nordic Air system, implementing Electric Aviation in a way to capitalise on regional strengths and opportunities.

The webinar gathered about 25 participants.
If you missed out, don’t worry! Below, you can find the webinar recording (Unfortunately, 5 minutes are missing from the beginning of the recording due to technical issues, we apologize) and the presentation slides:

The FAIR project competence network webinars will continue during 2021. The very next Czech solutions for electric aviation, arranged on the 17th of March, is arranged by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in cooperation with the FAIR project. Please find the invitation HERE.
Please contact carita.roslund@ri.se if you would want an invitation to seminars or a referral to other project activities.

The FAIR project group wish to thank Mr. Ganzarski and everyone who participated.

FAIR is to be seen as a first step of preparing the Kvarken region for an early implementation of electric aviation.
The project increases the knowledge base about electric aviation, investigates the possibilities and surveys both the needs and the required technical investments.
